Biographies of the company and team.
Let There Be Lights Productions is a social enterprise for young people by young people it was started over six months ago by two struggling film makers Hugh M Adamson (25) and Jason Marris (23). They were introduced by Edward Taylor (25) who would later on go to join the team. LTBL Productions was started on the basis of limited opportunities in the creative sector in our region. Prior to the formation we all had been searching high and low for opportunities but to no avail. If you can’t find an opportunity then make one. Monique Le Blanc (22) later joined the team and brought with her extensive film producing skills which she had learnt at the Northern Film School. We entered a competition in Bradford. This was the Bradford 48 Hour film challenge, where we were given a title and a proper and had to make a short film from writing a script, filming and editing in the space of the 48 hours. We were presented with Best Original Script and a special mention for cinematography. It was a pivotal point in our short history and cemented our professional relationships. I am an Artist/Illustrator based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. I am a graduate with a BA Honours in Illustration at University of Lincoln (Hull campus). I like to experiment with different medium for my artwork which includes watercolours, pencils, fine-liners, acrylics and digital artwork in Photoshop, depending on the requirements from the individual projects. After graduating in 2005, I have struggled to find work in this sector with many rejections from agencies and companies I have applied for. There were a few one off small commissions mainly from amateur writers working on projects for children books where I was able to experiment and develop my drawing skills. I have also produced artwork that were used as props for a film called Kenneth, produced by Monster Island Films ltd, an independent film company based in York. Most of my work were voluntary, mainly communicating via online which I have found were not always such a great method as you get a slow response and feedback and there were some employers/collaborators who were just unreliable and disappeared off the radar.
